Mind of Smoothie: A Year-In-Review

Before we say goodbye to 2025 it’s time to take a look back at the year in the life of Mind of Smoothie!

2025 well…2025 has been a year. I started this year with some very high hopes and even higher expectations. Turns out that fizzled out fairly quickly.

For the podcast, I started off on the right foot. For the first time in the history of the show I had my new year’s show recorded and scheduled ahead of the 1st. It was a good episode were I covered the 1980 film Terror Train. The next episode wouldn’t be released until the 25th of January. That episode was a 30th anniversary review and retrospective of Bone thugs-n-harmony’s 1994 debut EP Creepin’ On Ah Come Up. That episode in of itself was about 6 months overdue, and then the podcast went silent.

To not make excuses for my lack of content and updates, 2025 overall took a turn for the worst. It seemed as if the world was flipped and turned to the upside down. It just didn’t seem like I wanted to make content at all.

Enter March. Inspired by a fellow YouTuber and content creator I decided to dust off the old camera and get back into vlogging. From March 18th through June 23rd I posted daily, also for a good portion of that time was doing a “question of the day” short. Then the burn out set in and videos were sporadic and then…quiet.

As the year started to wind down, I began to realize it was time to start looking ahead and prepping for 2026. Tick-tock, tick-tock, that was what I would write in my journals knowing that the time frame was shrinking and I hadn’t done anything.

Finally, December arrived and it was crunch time. On the 12th I released a podcast episode covering my favorite holiday specials and followed that up with a 30 year look at Bone’s E. 1999 Eternal. Still late with the episode, but not as late as Creepin’ On Ah Come Up. On the 22nd of December I learned that YouTuber Adam The Woo passed away. He was a huge inspiration to me and I released 3 videos, two of which were tributes to Adam and talking about grief. As of this writing I released a  Christmas episode of the podcast and one last 30th anniversary retrospective of Insane Clown Posse’s Riddle Box. Now with this episode it makes 5 episodes for December and a strong finish for 2025 and a great foundation for 2026.

So here we are on the eve of 2026. What are you plans for the new year? I am ready, for the most part, but I certainly am in a much better position than last year. Thank you all for sticking with me for another trip around the sun. Here’s to 2026 and that is going to do it for 2025. Take care, God Bless, and stay SMOOTH! Happy New Year y’all.
